Job summary

Panda Restaurant Group is seeking a Senior Restaurant Development Engineer to lead research, design, and testing of new technology and equipment. You will optimize kitchen systems to improve quality, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across Operations.

You will oversee projects with Vendors and cross-functional teams, review testing results, and mentor engineers. The role includes system-wide rollouts, field support, and close alignment with Facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment.
• Obtaining a valid Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to research, evaluation, and development of equipment and technologies to enhance quality, safety, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across Operations.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to oversee projects, timelines, and vendor relations.
• Supports review of drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with design and standards.
• Performs financial analysis and operational evaluations to guide project decisions.
• Executes system-wide rollout for new equipment or small wares as assigned.
• Responds to service requests and resolves equipment issues in coordination with Operations and Facilities.
