Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist 3 to deliver safe, advanced respiratory care across age groups and to serve as a shift team leader when the supervisor is absent. The role includes education for patients, families, staff and students, and may involve ECMO management and external transport depending on assignment.

Licensure as a Virginia Respiratory Therapist, NBRC CRT or RRT, and CPR certification are required, with ACLS/PALS and NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of work experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Virginia licensure as a Respiratory Therapist required, NBRC CRT or RRT as applicable.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS/PALS and NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in accordance with guidelines and hospital standards.
• Serve as respiratory care resource and educator for patients, caregivers, hospital staff and students.
• Perform shift team leader duties in supervisor’s absence; may include ECMO management and external critical care transports.
