Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a part-time, on-site role. The position oversees ventilator management, arterial blood gas analysis, and respiratory care plans, while mentoring staff and students.

A strong emphasis on patient safety and protocol adherence is central to the role. You should have 3+ years of hospital experience, be a graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program, and hold RRT credentials with ACLS/BLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent training.
• 3+ years of hospital experience as an RRT.
• Licenses: RRT; ACLS; BLS; PALS; STABLE preferred.
• Experience in acute care and blood gas management.

Responsibilities

• Recommends changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instructs and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and reevaluates patient/ventilator interface every four hours.
• Provides training and supervision to staff and student preceptorship programs.
• Maintains quality care and supports department growth and morale.
