Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care across neonatal to geriatric patients. You will initiate ventilation, perform diagnostic tests, and support staff with preceptorships in a fast-paced acute care setting.

The role requires an associate degree (bachelor preferred), Florida licensure, and 3+ years of hospital experience. Day shift with full-time schedule and competitive pay in a supportive Healing Ministry environment.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy or have equivalent training.
• Experience in an acute care environment; knowledge of blood gas laboratory management.
• RRT or equivalent licensure required.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead and educate staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and selects ventilator settings.
• Draws and analyzes arterial blood gases and adjusts therapy accordingly.
• Responds to emergencies and manages airway support across patient populations.
• Provides training and supervision to staff and student preceptorships.
• Works with cardiopulmonary diagnostics and blood gas labs as needed.
• Maintains high quality care and contributes to department growth and morale.
