Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago, IL is seeking a Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services (RRT) for the Adult and Pediatric patient populations. This full-time night shift role provides leadership and clinical oversight within the Respiratory Care Services department.

The supervisor will manage workloads, serve as a clinical/technical resource, ensure productivity standards are met, and collaborate with Nursing, physicians and staff to deliver safe patient care across services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Practitioner program.
• Experience in a tertiary health care environment with adult, pediatric and neonatal care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Illinois state license.
• Basic Life Support certification; NRP/PALS/ACLS preferred depending on area.
• Member of AARC.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline supervision of Respiratory Care staff during shifts.
• Serve as clinical/technical resource and adjust workloads per productivity guidelines.
• Coordinate and assign STAT and new treatments across hospital areas.
• Offer management feedback on staff training, performance and policy needs.
