Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Lead Respiratory Care Practitioner Advanced to oversee daily clinical activities for Respiratory Care staff on the Health Science Campus. You will ensure staff competency and coordinate patient care with other professionals to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications include RRT, Ohio license, and 1–3 years of supervisory acute care experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), as recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current State Medical Board of Ohio Respiratory Care Professional license.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an acute care respiratory environment with a bachelor’s degree and relief charge experience (minimum) or 3 years with bachelor’s degree and relief charge experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BLS, ACLS CPR certification (AHA) required or accepted via Red Cross; ACLS must be achieved before probation if not present at hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily clinical activities of Respiratory Care staff.
• Ensure staff are technically competent and provide high-quality, safe patient care.
• Collaborate with other professionals to coordinate patient care according to best practice and hospital guidelines.
