Job summary

OhioHealth Pulmonary Services is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care. You will evaluate therapy effectiveness and communicate results to physicians and nurses, potentially serving as charge therapist in the manager’s absence.

The role requires NBRC Certification, Ohio license or Limited Permit, CPR, and an Associate’s Degree, with about 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (Required)
• NBRC Certification
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Ohio license or Ohio Limited Permit; CPR Certification
• Knowledge of Respiratory Care Technology; Patient assessment skills; Clinical Decision Making skills
• 1 year clinical Experience
• For Home Care department: valid state driver’s license, MVR, proof of insurance

Responsibilities

• Administers diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures and observes patient responses.
• Reviews orders, prepares materials/equipment, and explains treatments to patients.
• Maintains airway and provides adequate respiratory support including intubation in emergencies when policy allows.
• Performs invasive procedures such as suctioning and arterial blood gas sampling.
• Responds to emergencies and assists with transport of patients requiring ventilator support.
