Job summary

NPAworldwide in Amherst, NY is seeking a Residential Mortgage Loan Quality Control Underwriter to join a hybrid team focused on post-closing file Reviews and risk mitigation. You will re-underwrite loans to verify adherence to investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in residential mortgage, with exposure to Conventional, Jumbo, Non-QM products, and strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in residential mortgage underwriting or QC.
• Experience reviewing Conventional, Jumbo, Non-QM and non-conventional loans.
• Proficiency with mortgage documentation and investor guidelines.
• Strong ability to document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Familiarity with TRID, TILA, RESPA and related regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post-closing QC reviews of residential mortgage loans.
• Re-underwrite files to confirm compliance with guidelines.
• Analyze borrower income, assets, liabilities, and collateral.
• Recalculate income, DTIs, and asset values as needed.
• Review appraisals, title work, and collateral for completeness.
• Identify fraud indicators and assess loan risk.
• Document findings clearly and propose corrective actions.
• Stay updated on mortgage regs and investor requirements.
• Support QA initiatives and system/process improvements.
