Job summary

Berkshire Bank in Medford, MA is seeking an experienced Mortgage Officer to solicit and service a variety of residential loans. Interview applicants, collect financial data, and recommend loan products to meet borrower needs, assisting buyers through closing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' mortgage origination experience with a well-developed client base.

Responsibilities

Develop and expand internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage business.
Work closely with borrower(s) to secure all required information and loan documentation for underwriting.
Submit applications and supporting documentation consistent with all state and federal regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Provide ongoing communication and updates to borrower(s) on the status of their loan request.
Provide all follow-up documentation as requested by underwriting/processing in a timely manner.
Follow up on all conditions to ensure timely loan closings and rate lock expirations are satisfied.
Cross-sell other bank products and deepen banking relationships.
Work to meet the credit needs of the communities served, including helping low- to moderate-income residents acquire and remain in affordable housing.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with branch personnel within lending area.
