Job Description

Works both independently and with other team members to install equipment, program systems, and lead Residential AV projects. This position has authority-level knowledge of Residential AV systems, equipment, and commissioning projects. May be responsible for leading, training, and mentoring less experienced Technicians.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provides Project Manager with daily project status updates
2. Maintains Project documentation on a daily basis
3. Site walkthroughs with Project Management, Sales, and Clients
4. Completes quality control checks using Job Form
5. Employs project management principles to successfully execute AV projects on-time and within budget
6. Exhibits professionalism and provides excellent customer service
7. Acts as a resource for Residential AV technical knowledge
8. Completes complex, multi-room AV installs, setups, and calibration
9. Control system and theater room installations
10. Satellite/Cable systems setup
11. Advanced troubleshooting of simple and complex systems
12. Advanced networking/data system installs, set up, and deployment
13. Program automation, lighting, shading, surveillance, and security systems
14. Design, populate, and wire full-sized equipment racks
15. Coaches, leads, trains, and mentors less experienced Technicians
16. Complete required training and certifications; maintain certification levels for all position requirements
17. Adheres and maintains quality standards

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years AV field experience demonstrating proficiency in all of the previously posted job responsibilities for this position
2. High school diploma or GED
3. PCNA Certification (or comparable)
4. Control4 Automation Programmer Certification
5. Lutron RA3 Certification preferred but not required
6. RTI programming proficiency preferred but not required
7. URC programming proficiency preferred but not required
8. Savant programming proficiency preferred but not required
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
10. Ability to read and comprehend system drawings, floor plans, job scopes, and instructions
11. Ability to meet deadlines
12. Detail-oriented and organized; multi-tasker
13. Self-motivated, task driven, and able to apply “best practices” theory
14. Strong problem-solving skills; creates in the field solutions
15. Ability to work overtime as needed
16. Ability to travel overnight for training and installations as needed
17. Maintains valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record
18. Clean background check
19. Proficiency using hand and power tools
20. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
21. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and at high elevations

Position Details

• Salary range - $25hr-$33hr
