Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to lead a major multi-phase initiative to improve safety along the I-95 corridor in the Greater Portland area, spanning about seven years.

You will oversee field management, staff coordination, contract compliance, and technical leadership, interfacing with clients and stakeholders to deliver this landmark transportation program. MaineDOT standards knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 10 years construction related experience.
• All jurisdictional certificates.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and fee quotation; assist in technical proposals and contracts.
• Coordinate project activities; establish priorities and staff; prepare daily activity reports and monitor progress.
• Oversee project controls including schedule reviews and cost control; ensure conformance to plans and specs.
• Review submittals; develop strategies with the contractor to meet schedule requirements.
• Lead the project delivery plan and team development; manage non-compliant work.
• Provide interpretation of contract plans and specifications; develop feasible solutions.
• Confirm change order requests, develop estimates, negotiate costs, and write change orders.
• Provide cost control and quality control within discipline.
• Support business development and client relationships for mega projects.
