Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Resident Engineer (Highway / Interstate) for IDOT District 8 in the St. Louis area, with a proven CEI background.

This on-site role focuses on directing construction management activities for transportation projects, mentoring staff, and maintaining strong client relations. Candidates should have a BA/BS in Civil Engineering with 6+ years of experience (or equivalent), a valid driver's license, and DOT/IDOT experience; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
• Preferred: BA/BS in Civil Engineering or Construction related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certificates.
• Highway and Interstate Construction Experience.
• IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities.
• 7+ years DOT Construction Experience.
• Professional Engineer License.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and supervision of field activities to ensure project success within budget and schedule.
• Mentor and develop staff to support project objectives.
• Lead and supervise consultant teams on roadway and bridge construction projects.

Job Description

AECOMIL CM/CEI group is seeking a highly motivatedResident Engineer(Highway / Interstate)for IDOT District 8 with a proven track record in the Construction Engineering and Management industry. Based inthe St. Louis area, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities include providing technical direction, mentoring staff, and ensuring project success through effective supervision of field activities, maintaining client relationships, and adhering to budget and schedule requirements.

In this role, leading and supervising a consultant team, you'll contribute to rewarding roadway and bridge construction projects. This position provides growth opportunities and the chance to make a difference in Illinois, embracing the challenges of Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) for transportation projects.
