Job summary

Devon Energy is hiring a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Pittsburgh to drive inventory growth across the Appalachian Basin. You will identify, evaluate, and mature opportunities through acquisitions, joint ventures, and leasing, guiding economic evaluations and capital allocation decisions.

The role requires independence in ambiguous environments, leadership in cross-functional teams, and close interaction with senior leadership to shape Devon's Marcellus strategy. Based on-site in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
  • MS Finance, MS Economics or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in reservoir engineering or related field.
  • Experience with acquisitions, divestitures, JV activity or corporate development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and champion acquisition, leasing, and JV opportunities to expand Appalachian inventory.
  • Lead multidisciplinary evaluations with geoscience, operations, and land teams.
  • Develop field development plans, well spacing strategies and completion designs.
  • Conduct well performance analysis, pressure interpretation, and volumetric calculations.
  • Perform economic analysis of field programs and opportunities using Excel and ARIES/ComboCurve.
  • Gather and interpret large datasets to define reservoir characteristics and predict well performance.
  • Evaluate LOE and operating costs for asset alignment.
  • Lead special projects including advanced reservoir characterization and basin-wide models.
  • Mentor junior engineers and maintain a basin-wide perspective on activity and opportunities.
