Job summary

Devon Energy is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to drive inventory growth across the Appalachian Basin. This role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and maturing opportunities that expand Devon's inventory position through acquisitions, joint ventures and leasing.

The successful candidate will combine reservoir engineering expertise, commercial acumen, and data-driven decision making to influence capital allocation and growth strategy across Devon's Marcellus Business Unit.

Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating acquisitions, divestitures, acreage trades, joint ventures, and large-scale transactions.
  • Experience leading field development plans, well spacing optimization, and completion design decisions.
  • Strong understanding of upstream valuation methodologies and asset transaction processes.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate acquisition, leasing, and joint venture opportunities to expand Appalachian inventory.
  • Lead multidisciplinary evaluations with geoscience, operations, and land teams.
  • Develop field development plans and well spacing strategies to maximize asset value.
  • Perform economic analyses using Excel, ARIES, ComboCurve, and AI tools.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Provide executive-level technical and economic narratives for decisions.
