Job summary

The Jeste Lab at UCLA in Los Angeles seeks a Researcher to serve as a senior scientific partner to the Principal Investigator. This role leads translational biomarker research for early autism/ID syndromes and coordinates grant work and lab leadership.

The successful candidate will direct EEG and eye-tracking biomarker work, oversee daily lab operations, supervise postdocs and students, and contribute to grants and manuscripts as a senior member of the team.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, cognitive science or a related field; master's with substantial equivalent experience considered.
• Experience acquiring and analyzing functional imaging data, EEG strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set lab scientific direction and study design with PI.
• Lead EEG data acquisition and analysis and biomarkers.
• Maintain standardized data processing pipelines and harmonization across studies/sites.
• Pursue independent research within the lab's program with first- and senior-author opportunities.
• Co-write federal and foundation grant applications and publications.
• Oversee daily lab operations, staffing and budgets with the PI.
• Mentor postdocs, graduate students and staff on projects and analyses.
