Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Research Senior Technician in Physiology & Cell Biology in Columbus, OH to support investigations into cardiac ion channel biology. You will perform molecular biology techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis), cell culture, assays and Western analyses, and assist with data analysis for grant proposals and manuscripts.

You will record results, help with publications, train junior staff and students, set up equipment, manage supplies, and coordinate procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience with High School diploma or GED, 2 years with Associate's Degree, or 0 years with Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct experiments and employ molecular, cellular and biological techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures, Western analyses).
• Sort and process flow cytometry samples; test and evaluate procedures; perform routine procedures on laboratory animals.
• Record, consolidate and assist analysis of results; summarize findings for grant proposals and manuscripts.
• Prepare progress reports; assist PI with publications, posters and abstracts; perform library research.
• Train junior staff and students; set up and operate equipment; monitor supplies and inventory; initiate procurement.
• Oversee and maintain accurate laboratory records.
