Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Medicine | Ophthalmology department is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support investigations into eye disease. You will independently perform molecular and cellular techniques (immunohistochemistry, cell culture, Westerns) and assist with imaging, tissue processing, and sample handling.

You will record data, summarize results for grants and manuscripts, train junior staff and students, and help with publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; higher qualifications preferred
• Experience with molecular biology techniques is desirable
• Background check and pre-employment physical/drug screen may be required

Responsibilities

• Assist and support investigations into eye disease using animal models and molecular techniques
• Independently perform experiments including immunohistochemistry, cell culture and Western analyses
• Record, consolidate and help analyze results for grants and manuscripts
• Train junior staff and students in research methods and equipment operation
• Set up and operate lab equipment and monitor inventory and supplies
