Job summary

The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY invites applications for a laboratory professional who will perform complex laboratory assignments, plan and conduct experiments, and lead tasks within the Path&Lab Clinical Trials group (Department 400071).

You will provide technical oversight, coordinate training for technicians, ensure compliance with safety and university policies, and collaborate with the Principal Investigator to develop and refine procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years experience in sampling, monitoring or research activities.
• Associate degree in Health Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory assignments and lead portions of research projects.
• Coordinate testing and monitoring of hazardous substances and PPE.
• Provide technical oversight and train junior technicians.
• Develop procedures, monitor budgets, and liaise with PI and administrators.
• Stay current with industry standards and participate in weekly lab meetings.
