Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent.
• Strong scripting knowledge: bash/shell and Perl or Python.
• 4+ years managing a production Linux environment.
• Experience with configuration management and provisioning tools.
• Understanding of security practices in shared environments.
• Experience deploying storage using NSF v4 with Kerberos, NFSv3 and CIFS and file permissions.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux TCP/IP networking and SQL.
• Familiarity with modern data analytics tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; ability to prioritize multiple requests.
• Ability to improve workflows and operate independently within a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Install and support storage software.
• Create user and admin documentation.
• Apply software patches and perform end-to-end storage performance tuning.
• Stay updated with new storage tech and releases to enhance capabilities.
• Provide user support and training on best practices.
• Assist with troubleshooting complex use cases and escalate when needed.
• Support development of ARC resources for storage management workflows.
• Maintain inventory of resources in the Private Cloud environment.
• Collaborate with ARC staff to support computational research.
