Job summary

Surgo Health is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to lead analytical work for the US Youth Mental Health Tracker (YMHT). You will design methods, conduct rigorous analysis, and build the data systems behind the platform with close collaboration with research leadership and domain experts.

The role emphasizes advanced analytics and healthcare data to deliver impactful insights. You will drive data expansion across surveys, enable interactive data access for stakeholders, and help publish

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with 5+ years hands-on, end-to-end quantitative research experience.
• Strong command of statistical methods.
• Advanced proficiency in R and/or Python for analysis and data work.
• Solid data science collaboration with product/engineering teams on Databricks and Azure.
• Experience applying LLMs/GenAI to research and analytics workflows.
• Experience building composite indices or measurement frameworks and/or geospatial analysis is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of YMHT data resources spanning multiple surveys and youth cohorts.
• Make YMHT data explorable by transforming dashboards into an interactive interface.
• Prototype AI-driven tools with Engineering to enable independent data interrogation by partners.
• Lead peer-reviewed manuscripts and validation papers to establish scientific credibility.
