Job summary

The New York State Psychiatric Institute, affiliated with Columbia University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, seeks a Research Scientist 5 to lead single-cell and spatial genomics initiatives in translational psychiatry.

You will develop computational pipelines and optimize workflows for transcriptomic and epigenomic assays while mentoring multidisciplinary teams to advance understanding of mental illness.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 5 years of professional research experience or a doctorate with 3 years of experience.
• Experience with single-cell and spatial genomics, transcriptomic, or epigenomic assays.
• Expertise in computational pipeline development for large-scale genomics datasets (scRNA-seq, snRNA-seq, spatial omics).
• Experience in human subject research or human research protections program setting (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor multidisciplinary teams and generate rigorous research outputs for publications and grants.
