Job summary

The New York Genome Center is seeking an Associate Scientist I in the Technology Development Lab to advance single-cell and spatial genomics techniques. You will perform DNA/RNA sequencing procedures, prepare libraries, and collaborate across internal and external groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 2 years in a molecular biology lab with 1+ years in NGS library prep and sequencing.
• Experience handling RNA and DNA, including extraction and quantification.
• Experience with single-cell suspensions and spatial biology platforms is a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out DNA/RNA sequencing procedures including QC, library prep, and quantification.
• Assist in assays using single-cell and spatial methods (snRNA-Seq, Visium, Xenium, etc.).
• Contribute to development and troubleshooting of new methods with supervision.
• Maintain up-to-date SOPs and document results in ELN/databases.
• Collaborate with Technology Development and Production Lab teams for knowledge transfer.
