Job summary

Google Quantum AI is seeking a Research Scientist to design and simulate superconducting digital logic circuits (SFQ and AQFP) for qubit control and readout. You will collaborate with qubit designers and superconducting circuit teams, using advanced IC tools and 3D EM modeling to optimize signal integrity and minimize crosstalk in a cryogenic environment.

This role emphasizes co-design with fabrication engineers and aims to advance scalable, error-corrected quantum processors, with publication

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Experience in superconducting logic families (RSFQ, ERSFQ, RQL, HFQ, AQFP)
  • Experience performing tape-out of a superconducting IC chip
  • One or more published research paper or presentation at a conference

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate superconductor digital logic circuits for qubit control/readout.
  • Develop superconducting logic systems enabling multiplexed qubit control/readout.
  • Address issues in integration of superconducting electronics (multi-layer cell design, clock synchronization, flux trapping, signal integrity).
  • Collaborate with design, fabrication, measurement teams to validate quantum processors.
  • Publish research papers and present at leading scientific conferences.
