Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join the Brandes Lab at NYU School of Medicine. The lab specializes in applying advanced AI models, particularly protein language models, to genomics research. The role involves leading innovative research projects that utilize AI to analyze biological sequences and genetic data.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct genomic research using large language models (LLMs) to analyze DNA, RNA, proteins, and genetic mutations.
2. Analyze large-scale datasets from biobanks and genetic cohorts.
3. Collaborate with team members and external partners to achieve research goals.
4. Contribute to publications and grant proposals.
5. Potential Projects include: integrating variant effect prediction in genetics, enhancing GWAS and PRS with genomic LLMs, identifying genetic effects, and extending AI applications to non-coding regions.
