Job summary

University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a Senior Research Scientist to advance the NAMs program using the biomimetic LAMPS liver platform. The role focuses on early toxicity signal detection and collaboration with TraCe-MPS and clinical scientists at Pitt.

The candidate will conduct independent projects from design to dissemination, train staff, and help prepare manuscripts and grant proposals related to MASLD models and drug development tools.

Qualifications

• PhD in toxicology, pharmacology, physiology, cell biology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or related field required.
• Strong cell-based research experience; experience with liver MPS or co-culture systems valued.
• Experience with liver cell and organ physiology, cell/molecular biology, fluorescence imaging and quantification desired.
• Experience with primary human cells and iPSCs a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform studies to qualify the LAMPS platform as a DDT for FDA use.
• Design and manage independent research projects from concept through analysis.
• Present results in seminars and publications; draft manuscripts and grant proposals.
• Collaborate with the liver MPS team and Pitt clinician scientists.
