Job summary

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Cancer Biology, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join a translational research team focused on metabolic liver diseases, MASLD, MASH, and hepatocellular carcinoma. The role emphasizes in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models to uncover disease mechanisms and identify therapeutic targets.

Responsibilities include data analysis, manuscript preparation, mentoring junior staff, and collaboration with the PI to publish

Qualifications

• PhD or terminal degree in the appropriate field.
• Proven track record of first-author publications in peer‑reviewed journals, specifically within liver research or closely related fields.
• Extensive experience handling mouse research and liver function assays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research experiments within the pre-determined research scope and methodology.
• Gather and analyze data, developing new ideas that promote current research.
• Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results.
• Assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations; may assist in grant writing.
• Keep informed of developments in the field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and order supplies as needed.
• Teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
• Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
• Seek career and research advice from faculty supervisors and other faculty members.
