Job summary

The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Senior Program Manager to lead the Research Management Team within the Department of Family and Community Medicine. The role oversees daily operations, supervises 3–4 staff, and ensures support for Contracts & Grants, IRB processes, and research coordination.

Key responsibilities include developing the PI Academy, tracking research opportunities, producing regular reports, and coordinating with faculty and residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; two of which are management level experience.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily work of the Research Management Team (RMT).
• Supervise 3-4 RMT staff, including weekly 1:1 meetings and performance review responsibilities.
• Provide oversight, support, & training for Contracts & Grants Administration team.
• Liaise with PreAward & PostAward as needed.
• Provide faculty & resident IRB Support and mentorship in ethical review processes.
• Develop & lead the DFCM PI Academy to train and support faculty as principal investigators.
• Develop & lead Research Opportunity Management to track opportunities and maximize grant submissions.
• Provide ClinicalTrails.gov supports.
• Lead and execute the DFCM annual Scholars Day and annual report sections.
• Ensure tracking and proper use/storage of RMT data.
