Job summary

AccessLex Institute is seeking a Senior Research Methodologist to strengthen methodological rigor across the Center for Legal Education Excellence. You will guide quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research, advise stakeholders, and shape studies on law school access and the value of legal education.

The role leads complex projects, supervises analysts, and delivers polished reports and publications. Requires expertise in advanced statistics and policy-relevant research.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of research design, evaluation design, and applied statistical methods.
• Ability to supervise staff and develop analysts.
• Strong proficiency in statistical programming using R or Python or similar tools.
• Ability to assess validity, reliability, and policy relevance of findings.
• Commitment to quality assurance and rigorous data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape research initiatives advancing empirical understanding of access to law school and outcomes.
• Oversee multiple projects with limited oversight and manage timelines and deliverables.
• Supervise 1–2 research analysts and provide professional development.
• Design and execute quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research strategies.
• Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations communicating methods and findings clearly.
• Represent the Center in external meetings and conferences.
