Job summary

UMass Boston is seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead the National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment (NCAEM) Phase IV. You will work with the Principal Investigators and national partners to implement strategic action plans across health systems, states, and health plans.

The role requires strong project management, quantitative and qualitative research expertise, and the ability to translate research into policy and practice.

Qualifications

  • Social science master's degree required with 3–5 years of relevant work experience and experience in quantitative research methods and skills.
  • Social science doctoral degree preferred.
  • Prior experience with project management, research, and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, survey design, survey administration, data management and statistical analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Training or work experience focusing on older populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design competitive research projects and pursue opportunities (RFPs or investigator-initiated).
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to clients and partners.
  • Identify promising research directions in alignment with NCAEM’s mission (independently or with senior investigators).
  • Develop and submit for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Initiate and facilitate regular communication with co-investigators on projects.
  • Manage research projects responsibly, troubleshoot and adjust as needed.
  • Recruit, train and supervise Research Assistants and graduate student employees.
  • Develop and implement dissemination strategies for national conferences, funding agencies and service providers.
  • Maintain organized and accessible project files and documentation.
  • Participate in team and external meetings.
  • Plan and run virtual focus groups.
  • Participate in qualitative analysis and interpretation.
  • Produce written materials and reports for external funders.
