Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences seeks a Research Lab Supervisor in Maternal-Fetal Medicine to lead complex lab operations, collaborate across research groups, and drive study designs and data interpretation. The role includes managing large collaborative projects, budgeting, and vendor coordination.

The incumbent will supervise the EXCITE Laboratory, prepare manuscripts, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting cross-disciplinary research with clinicians and scientists.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
• Advanced knowledge of a limited variety of specialized laboratory equipment and experience with purchasing and maintaining equipment service contracts.
• Leadership skills for planning work assignments, prioritization and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

• Program Management of large collaborative studies, including management of budgets, milestones, SOPs, regulatory documents and reporting.
• Management of Perinatal Recharge Core, including communication with clients and coordination of core tasks.
• Supervision of the UCSD EXCITE Laboratory, ensuring CLIA/CAP compliance and oversight of technologists performing clinical assays.
• Develop and maintain SOPs; ensure quality control and compliance with regulatory requirements; guide staff performance and training.
