Job summary

Northwestern Universitys IT Technology Support Services seeks a Senior Technical Support Specialist, Research to coordinate and support IT systems in research facilities, cores, and centers, ensuring reliable, secure services for staff and faculty.

The role handles end-user and endpoint support for Windows, Mac, and Linux, enforces data standards (CUI/NIST 800-171, HIPAA, FISMA), and collaborates with campus partners. Reports to the Research Facility IT Services Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years+ experience in technical support or user services in an IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and support IT systems in academic research areas (cores, centers, labs).
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and endpoint support for MS Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• Secure endpoints per data standards and work with partners on compliant solutions.
• Coordinate projects and training; deliver technical presentations and materials.
