Job summary

Tenable, Inc. is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join a hybrid role bridging Security Response and Decision Science Operations. You will monitor threats, drive end-to-end response, and produce external content while analyzing data to guide investments and priorities.

Ideal candidates will have strong programming skills (Python/SQL), experience in vulnerability research, and expertise with BI tools and data pipelines. Hybrid work in MD or MA preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of programming and scripting experience (Python, SQL, or comparable).
• Strong knowledge of security vulnerabilities, CVSS scoring, vulnerability detection and exploitation techniques.
• Experience with data analytics platforms and BI tools (Tableau) and Python data-science tooling (Jupyter, pandas).

Responsibilities

• Monitor threat landscape and track events in real time.
• Coordinate end-to-end Security Response process across teams and stakeholders.
• Create technical content: blogs, advisories, whitepapers, presentations, webinars.
• Build data-driven dashboards and analytical workflows.
• Provide timely insights to inform product and business decisions.
