Job summary

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, seeks a Senior Research Engineer in Morrisville, PA to drive technology transfer from Product Development to Production and to advance processes for specialty materials.

You will collaborate with Process Chemistry, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Business Development to deploy new technologies and improve operations while mentoring junior engineers and upholding EH&S standards.

Qualifications

• BS in chemical engineering or related field required.
• 5–12 years of hands-on experience in process development in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Master’s degree in engineering is helpful.
• Experience with safety in chemical environments.
• Ability to design and troubleshoot lab and pilot-scale equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and assess technology transfer from product development to production.
• Document work and progress against goals; develop operating methods and procedures.
• Mentor junior Research Engineers and collaborate with Process Chemistry, Production, Quality, and Business Development teams.
• Lead or assist troubleshooting for existing manufacturing processes; perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance in all activities.
• Develop formulas, processes, methods, and technologies to meet project objectives.
