Job summary

Gelest Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Research Engineer to support growth in specialty materials. You will develop new processes and deploy technologies to enhance operations, with frequent collaboration across Process Chemistry, Production, Quality, and Maintenance.

Your role includes documenting work, transferring technology, and leading trials while maintaining rigorous EH&S standards and safety practices across lab, pilot, and production environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. in chemical engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on process development and safety experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Master's degree in engineering is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document bench-scale to pilot-scale experiments and transfer to production.
• Design, construct, and troubleshoot lab and pilot-scale equipment.
• Coordinate trial batches in production and specify materials and procedures.
• Lead or assist root-cause analysis and process optimization.
• Ensure EH&S compliance, safety reviews, and change management as needed.
