Job summary

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Research Engineer to support our growth in specialty materials. You will work on the transfer of technology from Product Development to Production and lead scale-up from bench to pilot stages.

The role requires hands-on experience in chemical engineering, safety in manufacturing, and strong documentation and communication skills to collaborate with multiple teams and ensure compliant, efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in process development and safety in chemical manufacturing.
• Familiar with unit operations and equipment used in chemical processes.
• Ability to document work objectives and results and communicate progress.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, document progress, and transfer technology from Product Development to Production.
• Design, construct, commission, start-up, and troubleshoot demonstration processes.
• Develop formulas, processes, and technologies to meet project objectives.
• Design and execute testing protocols to optimize process performance in lab, pilot, and production.
