The University of Miami is seeking an ORA Contracts and Grants Officer 2 to independently negotiate research contracts in line with sponsor requirements and University policies. The role supports a portfolio of academic departments and research units across University campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• CRA credential preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of contracting experience in sponsored or unfunded research.
• Knowledge of NIH, DOD, NSF, NASA, and DOE, Uniform Guidance, Export Control and FAR.
• Ability to work independently with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service.
• Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and integrity.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple offices (IRB, Risk Management, GC) to manage sponsored projects.

Responsabilités

• Drafts, reviews, analyzes, and negotiates terms and conditions for research contracts.
• Provides guidance to faculty and staff on sponsored research administration issues.
• Collaborates with IRB, Risk Management, Tech Transfer, Export Control, General Counsel, and other offices.
• Adheres to University policies and safeguards assets.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes affecting contracts portfolio.
