Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking an ORA Contracts and Grants Officer 3 to work in a hybrid model, supporting a portfolio of academic departments. You will draft, review, and negotiate terms with sponsors and coordinate with affiliated offices to manage complex agreements.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years in contracting for sponsored research, and strong communication and negotiation skills. CRA preferred but not required; advanced degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• CRA credential preferred but not required.
• Minimum 4 years contracting experience in sponsored research.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, analyzes, and negotiates terms and conditions of research contracts.
• Provide guidance to faculty and staff on sponsored research administration issues.
• Draft outbound subcontract agreements and negotiate terms.
• Mentor and train Contracts and Grants Officers and staff.
• Collaborate with IRB, Risk Management, Tech Transfer and GC for efficient project management.
• Adhere to policies and safeguard University assets.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes relevant to contracts portfolio.
