Job summary

UCSF Gaensler Lab seeks a Senior Research Associate III to advance translational and pre-clinical studies on a novel leukemia vaccine. You will validate results across cancer biology, immunology, and bioinformatics, and lead vaccine-related projects using in vitro biochemistry and cellular systems.

Responsibilities include extensive cell culture, cloning, gene expression, and murine model work, with emphasis on IND-related studies and collaboration within a dynamic research team.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Biochemistry or related science with 3+ years of related experience.
• Tissue culture and banking cells; aseptic technique.
• Molecular biology techniques such as cloning, nucleic acid purification and analysis.
• Good communication and record keeping, organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Validate results from basic and translational cancer research projects in cellular biology, immunology, bioinformatics, and murine models.
• Lead specific projects related to vaccine response and drug development using in vitro biochemistry and cellular experiments.
• Conduct extensive cell culture work and standard cloning procedures.
• Perform gene expression studies and flow cytometric analyses of immune and tumor cell populations.
