Job summary

TalkingPoints is a nonprofit edtech organization in the United States seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead rigorous research on family–school partnerships. You will design studies, manage data from TalkingPoints and external sources, and translate findings into actionable insights for product, engineering, philanthropy, and district partners.

The role requires 5+ years of applied research in K-12 settings, strong mixed-methods skills, and proficiency in R or Python with SQL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years applied research experience in K-12 education, nonprofit/edtech settings.
• Expertise in mixed methods design and data analysis, with transparent tradeoffs.
• Experience with public education datasets (e.g., NCES, state longitudinal systems).

Responsibilities

• Design and lead research studies from rapid descriptive analyses to quasi-experimental designs.
• Develop and maintain clear research plans with defined questions, methods, timelines, and deliverables.
• Manage, clean, and analyze data from the TalkingPoints platform, partner datasets, and public sources.
• Translate findings into clear, compelling reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to inform product strategy and partnerships.
