Job summary

The Howard University seeks a Research Assistant to support the Principal Investigator with highly technical laboratory work and data analysis. You will devise specialized procedures, analyze results, and prepare materials for publication.

Responsibilities include training staff, assisting in grant applications, and ensuring safe handling of hazardous substances. A strong background in biology-related fields and prior supervisory experience are valued assets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field.
Minimum five (5) years of research experience conducting data analysis and using computers.
Five years research and supervisory experience in a laboratory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Independently perform a wide range of highly technical and complex research and laboratory tests.
Devise highly specialized research procedures by applying knowledge of advanced techniques and equipment.
Analyze and interpret the results of studies; train staff in specialized procedures.
Assist in grant and other funding application preparation; review related literature.
Prepare written materials, charts and graphs for publication or presentation.
Monitor handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances.
