Job summary

The University of Michigan's SABER unit seeks an experienced Senior Research Administrator to oversee pre- and post-award financial and research administration for multiple sponsored projects. Reporting to the infrastructure manager, you will collaborate with faculty, sponsors, and central offices, ensuring compliance, budgeting, staffing, and timely reporting in a fully remote work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years supporting clinical research as a research administrator.
• Ability to analyze options and make independent decisions within responsibilities.
• Experience with pre- and post-award processes.
• Experience with NIH grant proposals.

Responsibilities

• Partner with faculty to prepare and submit complex sponsored proposals.
• Develop proposal budgets and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor and University policies.
• Manage proposal approvals and research agreements.
• Provide comprehensive financial management for sponsored projects and startup accounts.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures and advise on financial planning and compliance.
• Coordinate grant-funded personnel appointments and effort reporting.
• Develop and improve administrative processes and liaise with multiple departments.
