Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Managing Consultant to lead renewable energy permitting projects across Oregon and Washington, shaping utility-scale energy developments and regulatory strategy.

The role combines environmental permitting, regulatory coordination, and multidisciplinary team leadership to drive successful approvals while upholding ERM’s commitment to technical excellence and client service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in environmental science, biology, natural resources, anthropology, or related field, or 8 years equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience managing environmental permitting, land use planning, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience preparing land use permit applications and supporting local government approvals.
  • Strong project management, client communications, and budgets.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for renewable energy permitting projects across Oregon and Washington.
  • Manage projects through EFSC, EFSEC, county and municipal processes.
  • Lead project execution from proposal to regulatory approvals, managing scope, schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and subcontractors, ensuring QA/QC and safety.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to drive repeat business.
