ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Land Use Planner to lead and expand our renewable energy permitting practice across the Pacific Northwest, in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA. You will guide permitting, environmental reviews, and land use planning for utility-scale projects.

You will collaborate with agencies and stakeholders, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with state and local requirements. Competitive salary and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or 12+ years of equivalent experience in a related field.
• 6+ years of experience supporting permitting and land use planning for renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience preparing land use permit applications and local government approvals.
• Familiarity with Oregon and Washington land use regulations and permitting processes.
• AICP certification is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead permit strategies and entitlement pathways for energy projects across OR/WA.
• Prepare county and municipal land use permit applications, including CU Permits.
• Coordinate with state agencies, counties, and municipalities on regulatory needs.
• Conduct zoning and due diligence assessments for project sites.
• Interpret local codes and prepare findings showing compliance.
• Support EFSC/EFSEC review processes and related materials.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure high-quality permitting deliverables.
