Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the development and execution of major renewable energy infrastructure in Upington, Northern Cape. You will oversee feasibility, site acquisition, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring alignment with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

The role requires a minimum of 8 years in project management with 5+ years in renewables, managing budgets over R100 million, and strong leadership and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years of proven project management experience, with 5+ years in renewable energy.
• Experience managing projects with budgets above R100 million.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, especially solar and wind.
• Proficiency in PMP, PRINCE2 and project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of large renewable energy projects, including solar farms and wind facilities.
• Develop detailed project plans: scope, risks, resources, scheduling, and budget.
• Oversee site selection, permitting, and environmental assessments.
• Manage EPC contractors to meet specifications and timelines.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Control costs, monitor financial performance, and optimize resource use.
• Build relationships with government agencies, investors, and technical partners.
• Conduct rigorous site inspections and quality assurance during construction.
• Facilitate effective communication and reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Resolve complex project issues proactively and efficiently.
