Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Site Observability Engineer to design and operate the observability stack, spanning metrics, logs, traces, and alerting. You will drive standardization of instrumentation, OpenTelemetry adoption, and scalable deployments to support engineering teams across the U.S. remote environment.

The role emphasizes signal quality, ROI, and collaboration with SRE and platform teams to improve incident readiness, dashboards, and on-call workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles.
• Hands-on with Prometheus, Grafana and at least one commercial observability platform (Datadog/New Relic/Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms for metrics, logs, traces, events, and synthetic monitoring.
• Architect Prometheus/Thanos/Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog deployments for HA and scale.
• Develop standards for instrumentation, OpenTelemetry adoption, and logging conventions.
• Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs and build dashboards and alerts.
• Lead incident response improvements with dashboards, alert hygiene, and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor teams on observability fundamentals and ROI of observability initiatives.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform teams to integrate observability into CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
