Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Site Observability Engineer for a 100% remote US-based role. You will design and operate the end-to-end observability stack, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting, with a focus on usability and ROI.

You will standardize instrumentation using OpenTelemetry, implement SLOs/SLIs, and build scalable dashboards. Collaboration with SRE and platform teams is essential to drive cost efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
Five or more years in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles.
Deep hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one major observability platform (Datadog/New Relic/Splunk).
Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.

Responsibilities

Design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms across metrics, logs, traces, events, and synthetic monitoring.
Architect deployments of Prometheus/Thanos/Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs and build dashboards/alerts to operationalize them.
Lead incident response improvements with dashboards, alert hygiene, and post-incident analysis tooling.
Mentor teams on observability fundamentals and document runbooks and onboarding guides.
