Job summary

Pennymac is seeking a Staff Appraiser to perform desk review analysis on property valuation products ordered for its business transactions. You will collaborate with appraisal management companies to refine valuations as needed.

This role emphasizes adherence to USPAP, strong written justification of value conclusions, and guidance to teammates on valuation strategies. Remote work available, with compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in appraisals.
• Current certification to perform residential appraisals.
• Experience with residential property appraisals.
• Knowledge of USPAP regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform desk review of property valuation products and justify in writing any value conclusions that differ from the valuation
• Provide guidance to other staff regarding property valuation strategies
• Meet all service levels pertaining to the property valuation strategies
• Keep management apprised of any concerns regarding the performance of an appraiser, the appraisal management company or any part of the property valuation process
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
• Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
