Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) seeks a senior-level engineering consultant to join our Nuclear business unit. The position can be based remotely or in our offices in San Jose, CA; Centennial, CO; or Huntersville, NC.

The role supports project teams in finite element modeling, stress analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics. Primary responsibilities include stress analysis of power plant structures and pressure vessels, leading the FE analysis team, and applying ASME codes.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years with MS or 10+ years with BS of engineering experience.
• Advanced FE analysis of nuclear components (vessels, piping).
• Experience with mechanical, thermal, and modal analyses; non-linear material models.
• Proficiency in ASME Code Sections III and XI; strong reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Stress analysis of power plant structures, vessels, piping, and rotating equipment using classical and numerical methods.
• FE analyses following ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code guidelines.
• Lead and support the finite element analysis team.
• Support fatigue management programs for various components.
• Participate in design and repair projects for pressure vessel/piping components.
• Communicate results and engineering solutions to clients; participate in meetings with clients and vendors.
