Erie Insurance is seeking an experienced attorney or claims professional for its Litigation/Examination Dept. This role focuses on handling eastern Pennsylvania litigated claims, with preference for candidates near Allentown or Philadelphia offices.

The position offers remote work from home with potential travel to offices as needed. The ideal candidate has extensive litigation claims experience and strong knowledge of tort law and insurance coverage, along with the ability to train and mentor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience handling litigation claims or legal experience, or equivalent, required.
• Associate degree or paralegal certification and eight years of experience handling litigation claims or legal experience, required.
• High school diploma or GED and ten years of experience handling litigation claims or legal experience, required.
• Strong knowledge of claims handling and tort law/insurance coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations, evaluates coverage and liability, and recommends resolution strategies.
• Selects and collaborates with defense counsel in handling lawsuits.
• Manages litigation expenses and ensures defense counsel adheres to billing guidelines.
• Trains and mentors staff; documents claim files.
