Job summary

DK Consulting seeks a Senior Application/System Engineer to provide comprehensive support for the AICMS application and related correctional management systems. The role emphasizes OpenVMS administration, database tuning, and enterprise Java development.

Requires 10+ years in related tech areas, deep DB2 expertise, and experience with WebSphere/Tomcat and Cognos. This is a 100% remote position with virtual interviews.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of experience in application development, systems administration, database administration, and related technical areas.
• Strong Core Java experience including multithreading, concurrency, and enterprise app development.
• Hands-on experience with JSF, RichFaces, MyFaces, Tomahawk, Spring, Hibernate, and Jasper.
• Experience with SOAP and REST web services.
• Relational databases and SQL, with DB2 experience required.
• Experience with WebSphere and Tomcat application servers.
• DBA skills in design, maintenance, monitoring, backup, recovery and optimization.
• Experience with OpenVMS clusters, DCL, and OpenVMS capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements for the AICMS and related systems.
• Perform OpenVMS administration: maintenance, patching, security, performance monitoring, capacity planning, troubleshooting.
• Manage OpenVMS clusters, SAN storage, backups, and recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain Java-based enterprise apps using Core Java, Spring, Hibernate, Jasper.
• Develop and support SOAP and REST web services and integrations.
• Deploy and support apps on WebSphere and Tomcat; DB2/Linux administration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, databases, and procedures.
